Credits
Searches are paid from a credit wallet on your workspace. A credit is charged per search, and refunded in full if the search fails for any reason.
How charging works

| Search submitted | Charged at submit. |
| Maharashtra Index-II by property | 20 credits per year searched (year_to defaults to year_from). 1 to 10 years: one search. 11 or more years: one search per year, returned together under one batch_id. Years the portal never answered are refunded. |
| Search fails for any reason, or is cancelled | Refunded in full. |
| Request refused (422, 402, 429) | Nothing charged. |
| Search is HELD | Refused with 422 search_unavailable before any charge. |
| Same search again by the same person within 24 hours | Free. Same id returned. |
| Same search by a colleague in the workspace within 24 hours | Charged. Served from the recent result. |
| Retry with the same Idempotency-Key within 24 hours | Free. |
| A batch that would exceed your balance | Refused whole with 402. Nothing charged. |
Optional layers

| AI Assist | Upload a document or paste text for a state. We propose search parameters and never submit for you. Charged only when something was extracted. POST /api/v1/search/assist |
| AI Recovery | On an incomplete result, try related identifiers. Refunded if there is nothing defensible to try. Not available for searches that send an OTP. POST /api/v1/search/{id}/recover |
Check your balance
GET /api/v1/search/credits returns your search wallet. This is separate from report credits: search credits only pay for searches made through this API.
